shell art

The story about shell artist Amy Jager Ramsey in the May issue of Martha Stewart Living really pulled me in. She makes this really gorgeous art using small seashells she finds. I believe its something that has been in her family for a few generations. She didn’t have much interest in shell work as a child but took up the craft about 7 or 8 years ago. You can view her work at www.bobamy.com/shellwork.

Not only did I think her art was amazing I also thought wow this is a great gift idea if you have any crafty friends or family members. There is a how to guide on how to start making your own seashell art on marthastewart.com. It would be such a great idea to print the guide out and gift with a few starter tools and a couple packages of seashells.
